Pray Bendigo

Welcome!

Bendigo Tram

Pray Bendigo is made up of individuals and ministers from a number of different christian congregations in the city of Greater Bendigo. They have joined together in unity to see revival and transformation in this area, found in the heart of Victoria, Australia. The city has approximately 90,000 people and is made up of both rural and urban populations. This historical city was founded in the gold rushes of the 1850's and was one of the largest gold producing cities in the world. Bendigo has been the site of many revivals in the past 150 years and our desire is to see God's hand move again.

AUSTRALIA-WIDE CALL FOR PRAYER IN THE FACE OF DROUGHT

Filed under: News — thumper @ 3:52 pm

The Australia-wide Day of Prayer in the Face of Drought will be held this Sunday 24th July ushering in a season of 40 days of prayer during which Churches and individuals are invited to focus on the issues surrounding the crippling drought that has been afflicting our nation now for several years.

The National Council of Churches, Evangelical Alliance and the Australian Prayer Network, supported by the Assemblies of God in Australia have called the season of prayer in a united response to the widespread cry from both city and country areas of our nation for prayerful support in the face of this devestating drought.

The big wet of a few weeks ago in Northern NSW and South East Queensland has come and gone, and done little to ease the pain of drought. After a week that brought some of the heaviest falls in years, many drought-affected regions have still had only about 50 per cent of their normal rainfall this year.

The Australian Prayer Network is suggesting to those Churches and Individuals in our Network that the season include the following features.

* That Sunday 24th July be observed in Churches as a national Day of Prayer for the drought.

* That individuals be encouraged to pray on each of the 40 days of the designated season using the devotional material being prepared as an aid.

* That Churches set aside time in each Sunday service held during August to pray for a breaking of the spiritual and physical drought across the nation.

* That Churches encourage their small groups to also pick up on the theme of the season of prayer in their meetings throughout the 40 day period.

* That on the final night, 1st September, people gather, whether it be in small groups or combined congregations, for times of worship and thanksgiving for answered prayers both at the individual and national level, releasing faith in believing that our future is assured in His hands.

Daily devotional material for the 40 days of prayer is available for viewing and or download from our website at www.ausprayernet.org.au

Explosion at the lake

Filed under: News — thumper @ 11:27 pm

After the fireworks were finished on Easter Sunday, CityWide Connections exploded into life. Crowd estimates vary from 1000 right through to 6000, but regardless of the number of people there, the church of Bendigo combined to lift the name of Jesus.

CityWide Connections

Easter Sunday night after the fireworks is a huge citywide gathering of local churches. This is the result of many years of prayer and will certainly be a significant night in the history of Bendigo.
